We are landlords using James Whilton Pall Mall Office. If I could go back in time I WOULD NEVER HAVE USED JAMES WHILTON. We went for a full management and there has been one issue after another but as they are not part of the Ombudmans of Estate Agents there is nothing we can do. It started off with them saying: 1) A French lady and her boyfriend were moving in and did not need furniture, so we sold it or put in storage 2) Then we get a contract saying Maria X, Vera X and Helen X moved in. This change was never communicated to us. 3) 1st month rent was £40 short, but this was resolved quickly when we raised this issue. 4) 2nd month rent was late and this was not resolved easily or quickly (4 weeks late to get the payment). a. First we were told that it was a standing order issue b. Then we were told a date issue Two of the tenants had paid on time and we could have had this money transferred on the 12th. 5) When we ask for the tenants to be given notice of eviction we find out the actual tenants are Elana X, Monica X and Adela X. This change was never communicated to us. 6) They are charging £100 less than what was agreed 7) We have repeated asked via phone calls and later e-mails for the above documents and there is no evidence that the tenants deposit is in a deposit scheme a. We would be phoned back with the deposit scheme information - never happened b. Have been told the scanner was broken so could e-mail these to us! I forgot that phones couldn't take photos and e-mail there 8) Still not received May’s payment I feel that the communication has never been optimal but there is no trust and confidence anymore. Unless you want to throw your money away DO NOT use James Whilton. Use estate agents who belong to a regulatory scheme approved by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT). There are only two approved schemes, The Property Ombudsman and the Ombudsman Services: Property. Looking at these websites there is no evidence that James Whilton is a member of either of these schemes. Meaning when things go wrong you apart from solicitors there is not a lot you can do.
Ricky and his team were fantastic to work with from start to finish. They were punctual, prepared and willing to help even in ways that weren't expected of them. We really enjoyed our day with the team which shows in the final output. The creativity and attention with which the final DVD was produced is evident. It did take a while to get the complete set of photos as some were forgotten in the initial delivery but that is a minor point. This is a safe bet for a team that will get every important moment and truly capture the essence of what it all means. Thank you Ricky.

I have been using Galpins for over 3 years. They are very reliable and professional company. And there prices are very very competitive.
I took my minibus for an MOT on friday, they said it had failed hut could fix it easily for £140. I was given a lift home and told they would change the 4 lightbulbs that had contributed to the failure of the MOT for free. The car was being cleaned as I arrived the guy was really friendly. However when I took it to my dad's friend who's a mechanic he said the only thing he could see they had done was damage the drive shaft boot which leaks grease. Eventually this would damage the drive shaft and I would need to replace it but ot would happen over time so I wouldn't connect it to the garage. The lightbulbs hadn't been touched so it means the guy doing the MOT is in on the CON as well.
