• Dosas.... drooool!

  Firstly, if you have never eaten a dosa before, you simply must immediately find an Indian restaurant which serves them! The classic Chennai dosa consists of a huge pancake stuffed with mashed potato and a range of fillings (eg chilli & paneer), served on a metal platter with various dips. This restaurant also serves a huge menu of other Sri Lankan/Indian dishes, all of which are so reasonable, spicy and delicious. The local Asian community all regularly eat there, which is the only recommendation required! It is basic no frills and very reasonable indeed. If you have a large party you can get the GIANT 6 foot dosa to share, which is the HUGEST most impressive pancake I've ever seen! Also, it does serve some meat dishes as well as the vegetarian ones.

• Worth a visit

  This is a little gem and the only vegetarian restaurant that I'll willing go to. This place packs them in tightly and turns the tables very quickly providing you with the Indian version of fast food, only this is far healthier than a MacDonalds! You may have to wait to get a table but that wait is worthwhile as the flavours in the food are wonderful. Here the Indian clients out number everyone else at least 10 to 1, so they must know something the rest of us don't.

• South Indian food

  If you fancy south Indian dishes I would recomend this one. The quality has gone down since they started. They don't accept credit card any more
